Training Your Way: Areas to go lighter

What does “go lighter” mean?

When setting up your amp plan, you can choose body areas you’d like to train with less intensity. Your plan stays balanced — this just tells amp where to pull back so your experience feels more tailored to you.


How do I set it up?

During onboarding

  1. When you reach the Training Preferences screen, select “Go lighter on” and tap the areas you’d like to de-emphasize. Hit Save and continue.

After onboarding

Go to Profile > tap the gear icon > Workout Preferences > Go lighter on. Update your selections anytime.



Who can use it?

Available with amp Membership. If you skipped it during onboarding, you can set it from Workout Preferences at any time.


Common questions

Q: Will those areas disappear from my plan completely?

A: No — your plan will feature those areas less prominently, but stays balanced overall. If you want to fully avoid a specific body area, AI Coach Chat can make that adjustment for you.

Q: Can I change my preferences later?

A: Yes. Head to Profile > gear icon > Workout Preferences anytime to update which areas you’d like to go lighter on.

Q: Do I have to set this?

A: No — it’s optional. If you skip it, your plan will be built using your other training preferences.
